Found objects referred to by the French term ‘objet trouvé’, are artwork created from undisguised, sometimes altered, items that are not generally considered materials from which artwork is produced due to their non-art function. Dada, surrealist, pop artists, and contemporary artists such as Damien Hirst, Sarah Lucas, Carl Andre, Tony Cragg, Bill Woodrow, and Michael Landy made extensive use of found objects.

These prints were developed based on handwritten tags and signs observed at one of Europe´s largest outdoor food markets in London. The efficient and haphazard nature permeating these signs possesses a quality that could be conceived as contrived if attempted to replicate. Distilling the prints from garish contexts and colors rendered them into black-and-white textile prints. Despite their different origin, they became cohesive in expression.
